Frankfurt am Main brings together an unusually wide range of architectural periods. The Main Tower is one of the few skyscrapers in the skyline open to the public, while the Eiserner Steg, a cast-iron pedestrian bridge, represents a different kind of 19th-century engineering. The Imperial Cathedral and Goethe-Haus reflect medieval and baroque civic architecture respectively, and the MMK Museum of Modern Art occupies a striking contemporary building in the city centre.
